Question

In relation to the $33.3 million reduction to pest and disease preparedness and response funding: a) What account, program or special purpose payment has been reduced? b) What was the balance of the account before and after the Budget reduction? c) What events, pests or diseases is the account intended to respond to? d) What is the minimum balance DAFF considers prudent to enable immediate response to a major outbreak? e) Would the reduction require DAFF to seek additional government funding earlier in a major event such as foot-and-mouth disease, lumpy skin disease, highly pathogenic avian influenza, fire ants, varroa or polyphagous shot-hole borer? f) Was a biosecurity risk assessment conducted before the saving was agreed?
