Question

1. Where are the Livestock Production Assurance (LPA) program compliance requirements coming from, are they a result of state or federal government policy, international trade partners requirements? 2. LPA accreditation involves a producer self-assessment and periodic audits. How frequently are LPA audits conducted on average and what proportion of audits identify non-compliance? 3. What would you estimate the initial setup cost and man hours required would be for your average farmer to meet an LPA accreditation? 4. The LPA accreditation requires a significant amount of recordkeeping, has the MLA assessed how practical this is particularly for small to medium scale producers?
