Part 43 Regulatory Reforms

Question

1. In regard to the General Aviation Workplan that came out of the Aviation White Paper, what is the current status of the Part 43 regulatory reforms around CASR Maintenance of aircraft in private and aerial work operations? 2. Has the Department provided advice to the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development & Local Government (the Minister) on the reforms? 3. What is the date of the most recent advice provided by the Department? 4. On how many previous occasions was that advice provided and what were the dates of that advice provided? 5. Did any of all of the advice include a recommendation to approve the final changes to the regulations? 6. Has the Minister provided any direction or feedback on the advice provided by the Department? 7. If so, on how many occasions was the direction/feedback provided and on each occasion when was that advice provided? 8. What was the date of the most recent feedback? 9. Have the Minister or any members of the Minister's office provided any direction/feedback to the Department on reviewing the previous advice provided? 10. If so, what was that advice? 11. Following on from the Government's Economic Roundtable and its pledge to enact further regulatory reform for business, does the Minister consider Part 43 regulatory reforms as part of their portfolio's contribution to the Government's program of regulatory reform? 12. If so, when would the reforms be announced and what is the timeframe for implementation?
