Question

Senator FARUQI: Okay. What specific due diligence processes does the investment committee require external fund managers to complete to demonstrate compliance with the SRI policy? Is there anything that is required? Prof. Brown: Yes. I am happy to take this on notice, but, as I understand it, we require our investment companies to do a parallel screen every six months to check that they are screening for our policy as stated. But, as I said earlier, our committee working group is recommending some changes to our policy. Senator FARUQI: Will these changes also encompass how often you report on compliance with SRI policy, whether there are any discrepancies or breaches with your policy and what the external fund managers might do? Are those the sorts of things you're considering as well? Prof. Brown: To the best of my knowledge, there isn't going to be a recommendation on the frequency of compliance checking, but there could be. It's certainly a question I can ask.
