7. How many ADF members receive Rent Allowance? 8. What is the value of Rent Allowance? 9. Was the Department of Defence involved in any discussion with Treasury on changes to CGT and negative gearing announced in the Budget prior to 12 May 2026? 10. [If so], please outline when Defence was first approached about the changes? 11. [If not], when did Defence first become aware of the changes announced in the Budget? 12. Frequent postings and relocations often prevent ADF members from maintaining a single principal place of residence over an extended period. Has Defence made any representations to Treasury regarding the unique circumstances of ADF members and the consequences of changes to CGT and negative gearing on this unique group? If so, what were these representations? 13. Has Defence conducted any modelling or assessments on how changes to CGT and negative gearing will affect ADF members (1) buy their first home and (2) access the rental market? If so, when was this this undertaken?
