Question

1. If recognition of the State of Palestine is not intended to be the end point of policy, what concrete measures does the government see as the next phase of Australia's response? 2. Beyond the sanctions on Ben-Gvir and Smotrich, what additional accountability measures is DFAT actively considering in relation to Israel's ongoing violations of international law? 3. Has DFAT provided advice to the Minister on broader sanctions options, including institutional sanctions or sanctions linked to annexation and settlement expansion? 4. What would have to happen for Australia to consider broader sanctions, given the scale of what is already unfolding? 5. How is DFAT ensuring that recognition does not become a substitute for material consequences?
