Question

1. Why did Australia not join the 30 December 2025 and 24 February 2026 joint statement by partner foreign ministers on Gaza's humanitarian crisis and Israel's new INGO restrictions? 2. Who made that decision, and what reasons were given? 3. What assessment did DFAT make of the humanitarian and duty-of-care implications of Israel's INGO registration measures? 4. What specific representations has Australia made to Israel regarding humanitarian access, humanitarian neutrality and protection of aid organisations? 5. Is Australia currently working with like-minded governments on any new public or private initiative to defend humanitarian access in Gaza? 6. Does DFAT accept that the shrinking space for humanitarian organisations requires a more public and coordinated diplomatic response?
