Amnesty International, APAN, the Jewish Council of Australia, and the Medical Association for the Prevention of War have made submissions to DFAT requesting targeted sanctions against a range of individuals and entities. They are the domestic partners of the Global Sanctions Initiative. They have lodged two submissions: Libi et ors submission was lodged on 29 January 2026, WZO et ors submission was lodged on 6 February 2026. 1. Has each submission been considered by the Department and/or by Minister Penny Wong? 2. What is the process for the department after receiving such submissions? 3. Has that process been followed here? 4. Has the department put a brief to the Minister's office regarding either or both of the submissions? If so, when? 5. Has Minister Penny Wong made any decision in relation to the proposed targeted sanctions? If so, what is that decision? If not, when will a decision be made? 6. Has the Australian Government ruled out imposing targeted sanctions recommended by those submissions? 7. Has Minister Penny Wong ruled out imposing targeted sanctions recommended by those submissions? 8. Is the Australian Government still considering the targeted sanctions proposed by those submissions? 9. Will the Australian Government impose the targeted sanctions recommended by those submissions?
