Question

Senator CANAVAN: When did you first brief the minister for trade about the potential for the forced labour investigation from the USTR? Mr Mina: I'm not sure we have the exact detail to be certain for you on that. Senator CANAVAN: Was he briefed before 12 March? Mr Mina: I'm confident we would have been in a position to have briefed the minister about the prospect. I'd have to come back to you on notice on whether we have the date or whether we were able to furnish the minister with briefing on a particular date on an investigation of forced labour. Senator CANAVAN: What about the Prime Minister? Was the Prime Minister briefed on it? Mr Mina: It would have been exactly the same. Senator CANAVAN: Can you take that on notice too then? Mr Mina: Absolutely.
