Question

Senator McDONALD: I guess what I'm getting to is: who made the decision that it would be treated as a commercial matter? Was that on advice from BHP, or was that advice or a decision that was made within government? And was the department involved in providing advice to assist in making that decision? Mr Mina: I think it's in Australia's overall interests that I respond solely with the observation that we're in close contact with BHP on this matter. Senator McDONALD: Has any minister-trade, resources, the Treasurer-or the Prime Minister raised CMRG's conduct directly with Chinese counterparts? Mr Mina: We're going to have to take that one on notice. Senator McDONALD: During the trade minister's May 2026 travel to China, was CMRG or iron ore pricing raised? Mr Mina: Again, I think it's best that I take that one on notice for completeness.
