Australia EU Wine Agreement
Question
Mr Mina: In respect of measures relating to enforcement of the geographical indications regime there's Agriculture. As Mr Jacenko said earlier, that's administration of quotas, exporting technical market access elements and so forth. And there's Wine Australia on the implementation of the Australia-EU Wine Agreement. We should also mention a component that is going to the home affairs department for enforcement of the geographical indications regime at the border as well as verification of origin of goods. These are normal Border Force roles in free trade agreements. Then, finally, a small component is going to the infrastructure department. That relates to the acceptance of various standards relating to motor vehicles. So there's a variety of implementation aspects. Senator CANAVAN: Is the $7 million ongoing also going to a range of departments? Mr Mina: We would have to come back to you on notice on that part. Senator CANAVAN: Okay. Mr Mina: There'll be elements that are ongoing in each of these components I've just referenced. So I'd have to come back to you. Senator CANAVAN: On notice, too, could you tell us how many ASL are associated with this additional funding. Mr Mina: Sure.
