SME
Question
Senator CANAVAN: Before, the secretary mentioned a $100,000 project. That won't have to report its emissions to you before accessing a loan or a facility. Mr Pacey : That's correct. When we calculate our own emissions, we would make an estimation of the emissions of that SME exporter. Senator CANAVAN: Right. What's your threshold, then-is it transaction value; is it an amount of emissions-before you require specific emissions reporting from a project? Mr Pacey : We operate in accordance with international protocols, including the OECD common approaches, and they provide benchmarks in relation to when companies should report emissions. We adhere to those. Senator CANAVAN: I'm just trying to understand what those are for you, though. If I'm a customer coming forward, at what point will you decide, 'Yep, you need to start telling me your scope 1, 2, maybe 3 emissions from this project'? Mr Pacey : It would only apply to projects in accordance with what's known as the IFC performance standards, which we would apply. For larger companies in Australia that have public reporting requirements under the NGERS, we wouldn't duplicate those requirements. Senator CANAVAN: It's only for those companies that have greenhouse gas reporting obligations. Mr Pacey : Over thresholds, which I can take on notice.
