Question

QUESTION With reference to BreastScreen Queensland— Will the Minister advise the attrition rate of the breast screening workforce in 2025, inclusive of retirees (reported separately by HHS region)? ANSWER The Member would be pleased to hear that the Crisafulli Government is investing more than $66 million in 2025-26 for the early detection of breast cancer in Queensland women. In January 2025, the Crisafulli Government launched the BreastScreen Queensland Strategic Plan 2025-2032, which is aimed at improving screening rates to reduce the burden of breast cancer across Queensland. In launching the Strategic Plan in Townsville, I was pleased to also unveil the new $1 million mobile screening van which will give regional and remote communities easier access to screening services. I am advised that attrition rates are typically reported by financial year. As such, the rates for each Hospital and Health Service in the 2024-25 fiscal year are: 10.40 per cent for Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. 17.26 per cent for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. 6.96 per cent for Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service. 4.09 per cent for Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. 3.98 per cent for Mackay Hospital and Health Service. 3.06 per cent for Metro North Hospital and Health Service. 0 per cent for Metro South Hospital and Health Service. 2.53 per cent for Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. 11.04 per cent for Townsville Hospital and Health Service. 0 per cent for West Moreton Hospital and Health Service. 17.35 per cent for Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.
