Emergency Management Levy

Question

With reference to small mine operators being charged a substantial Emergency Management Levy for parcels of vacant scrub-land and charged for active working leases based on being categorised by land area instead of production volume, and noting that in the event of a fire or machinery accident the only government services available are SES and Rural Fire Brigade (manned by volunteers – often the same miners being levied)— Will the Minister provide an update as to when this anomaly will be corrected, as discussed in our meeting with the North Queensland Miners Association in August 2025?
