Termination of Pregnancy Action Plan 2032
Question
QUESTION With reference to the Termination of Pregnancy Action Plan 2032, and the accompanying investment of $40m— Will the Minister advise to the latest available date the total actual expenditure on the Termination of Pregnancy Action Plan 2032? ANSWER All Queensland Health Hospital and Health Services have pathways for accessing termination of pregnancy services, which vary depending on the gestation of the pregnancy and the pregnant woman’s individual circumstances. When the Termination of Pregnancy Action Plan was launched in March 2024, it was supported by a government funding commitment of over $40 million from 2023-24 to 2027-28. In 2023-24, the former government failed to expend any of the funding committed. Under the Crisafulli Government, implementation of the Termination of Pregnancy Action Plan continues until 2027-28 as a component of the broader Women and Girls’ Health Improvement program of work. Since March 2024 up to December 2025, approximately $14.5 million has been expended as part of the Termination of Pregnancy Action Plan 2032. Expenditure to date is on track.
