Question

QUESTION With reference to 2025-26 Budget Paper 4— Will the Minister advise on funding provided in 2025-26 to deliver free Meningococcal B and RSV vaccines? ANSWER I am advised that total funding allocated to the Queensland Meningococcal B (MenB) Vaccination Program and the Queensland Pediatric RSV Prevention Program in 2025-26 is $34,942,450. I recently wrote to the Commonwealth Government about the urgent need to expand the National Immunisation Program to allow for a nationally consistent and coordinated approach to the funding of immunisation products to ensure all Australians can access protection in an equitable and timely manner. Currently, gaps in the NIP require States and Territories to step in to provide funding for immunisation products – which are primarily a Commonwealth responsibility – resulting in inconsistencies across the nation.
