Question

With reference to the AI auto-detection camera technology used to identify seatbelt infringements on Queensland roads— Will the Minister advise (a) what was the rate of false positives and false negatives in accuracy testing data of the automated system supplied to the government, and what proportion of fines issued using the technology are contested, and contested successfully, and do these figures conform, (b) what is this government’s policy and justification for imposing such a substantial fine for incorrectly wearing a seatbelt and (c) does the department have oversight or input into ‘business rules’ which are used by the officers within Queensland Revenue Office to adjudicate whether an offence has occurred, and if so, what are these rules?
