Question

With reference to the Chief Psychiatrist Policy under the Mental Health Act 2016 – where it states the Chief Psychiatrist is required to report critical incidents, including the death of someone who received treatment or care as a patient of the Authorised Mental Health Service (AMHS) during the preceding 30 days, however, this is only ‘if the AMHS becomes aware’ of the death— Will the Minister provide details of the mechanisms in place to ensure AMHS’ are being informed of a patient’s suicide within 30 days of release from an AMHS?
